808 State is an English electronic music band formed by Graham Massey, Martin Price, and Gerald Simpson in 1987. The group released their debut album, Newbuild, in 1988. Their 1989 song “Pacific State” became their commercial success, as it was picked up by BBC Radio 1 DJ Gary Davies.
