Major Lazer is a Jamaican-American electronic music trio headed by DJ and producer Diplo. The band also includes DJs Walshy Fire and Ape Drums. Its sound is a mix of EDM with reggae, dancehall, moombahton, reggaeton, and house. The group have released four studio albums: Guns Don’t Kill People… Lazers Do in 2009, Free the Universe in 2013, Peace Is the Mission in 2015, and Lazerism in 2020. In March 2018, the band took number five on the Billboard Dance 100 ranking of dance musicians.
